One of my favorite weekly traditions with Matt and my mother is going to the Amish market. There are several in our area, but our usual is the Williamstown Farmers Market. It's open Thursday-Saturday. We try to go on Friday since Saturdays are always packed.

Now let me be real--I'm a grumpy person in the mornings. The prospect of a pretzel roll filled with ham, egg, and cheese fresh from the oven, though, gets me out of bed without (much) complaint.

By the time we get to the market (which is about 20 minutes from our house), I'm already bordering on hangry, so the pretzel stand is our first stop. They may not look like much, but trust me--glorious.

They're under a heat lamp, but they sell so quickly they never get dried out.

We tend to buy our meats and spices here rather than the grocery store. Everything is reliably high quality and delicious.

I love it that the packaging is airtight and stacks really neatly in my cabinet.

They nearly always have great sales on a different cut of meat each week.

We just recently discovered how delicious their prepared foods are. Matt tends to buy half a dozen rotisserie wings to snack on as we walk through the market.

My mother gets a half loaf of whatever looks yummiest for her breakfasts for the week--this week's pick was a lemon blueberry bread.

I'm always so tempted by the cinnamon rolls, but we haven't tried them yet.

Our last stop (even though we're always stuffed at this point) is the donut stand. They bake and fill them right on the premises, and are hands down the most delicious donuts I've ever had. I go raspberry glazed, but Matt usually mixes it up each week.
